If breast cancer comes back, how do you cope? This brave little book features quotes from people who know what to do, because they have lived through it.
The content is straightforward, non-threatening and positive – never patronising. It allows people the space to turn others down, not to have to feel positive all the time and finally to acknowledge losses.
Messages that ‘duvet days’ are okay and tips from those who been there are delivered in an easy-to-read format, in bite-size chunks. The layout is clear, with simple graphics, making it an easy book just to pick up and put down. Some books about cancer are embarrassing to have around, but this one is discreet enough to have in the kitchen or on the coffee table. But did it have to be purple?
I particularly like the bit at the end that gives tips to healthcare professionals. We could do with more of that. This book is a free resource from Breast Cancer Care.
